The NorTrials Feasibility Portal is a support service for stakeholders looking to conduct clinical trials in Norway. The portal has been operational since August 2022.
Requests submitted through the NorTrials Feasibility Portal will be forwarded to hospitals interested in conducting clinical trials in the relevant field. The NorTrials coordinating unit will follow up on these requests to ensure they are answered within the given deadline.
Once contact has been established, further dialogue will take place without NorTrials’ involvement. However, the NorTrials coordinating unit can assist in clarifying uncertainties and following up on unanswered requests from hospitals or missing feedback from companies.
Feasibility requests often arrive at a very early stage of planning, meaning feedback on trial assignments may take some time. Companies are encouraged to notify hospitals of the outcome of the feasibility process as soon as it is known, to prevent hospitals from unnecessarily reserving much-needed resources.
Requests to NorTrials regarding the testing of medical devices often differ from those concerning participation in clinical drug trials, as these inquiries tend to occur earlier in the development process. Many small start-up companies and individuals with a product under development, or simply a good idea, require help determining whether there is a need for their product and how to proceed with obtaining approval. Contact the NorTrials coordinating unit if you need assistance with feasibility assessments, other requests, or have questions about the portal.
